Baseball Parade No-show

FoSP were as surprised as anyone that the Baseball Parade and Season Opening Ceremony were cancelled without notice. Apparently, the decision to postpone the event until July 11th was made late on Friday, but someone(s) failed to follow through with timely notification to the rest of us.
We'll recommend to the "organizers that be" that in the future they should post a Rain Date and provide a Parks Dept. 24-hr telephone number with a recorded announcement. Any other ideas of how to prevent a repeat of this situation? Send us your suggestions and we''ll pass them along.
See you on the 11th.
