Unfortunately, Councilwoman Sara Gonzalez, the incumbent, did not attend the candidates forum held at Trinity Church in Sunset Park and sponsored by Transportation Alternatives + UPROSE.
The challenger, Carlos Menchaca, was present and, after an introductory statement, responded to questions posed by a panel of young adults, residents in CD38 and participants in UPROSE's youth leadership programs.
The audience submitted many more questions than time allowed to be answered at the event. Consequently, all questions have been forwarded to both Primary candidates for their comments. UPROSE will post responses on their website- www.uprose.org as they become available.
