FoSP has been reporting on the fight to prevent the sale of Long Island College Hospital by SUNY Downstate/NYS Dept. of Health/Gov. Cuomo to real estate developers for the development of luxury (read- very expensive) condos for a very long time. While the best outcome for the community has yet to be realized, the fight is not over, and, while this fight is about a hospital, it bears too much resemblance to other decisions being made in our neighborhoods in opposition to community voices and real (evidence based) community needs, in spite of "news" that these are prosperous times in both, New York City and New York State.
